University Foot & Ankle Institute Santa Barbara Podiatry Offices Welcome Dr. Jason Morris

The University Foot and Ankle Institute is proud to welcome Dr. Jason Morris to our team of foot and ankle surgeons in our Santa Barbara podiatry office. Dr. Morris is a native of Chicago, IL where he was born and raised. As an athlete throughout high school, he developed an interest in the biomechanics and injuries of the human body. Having endured injuries as a child and throughout athletics, he understood the immense impact they can have especially when involving the lower extremity. It was through these experiences that he gained his desire to become a physician and help others affected by these types of injuries. With an undergraduate pre-medical emphasis, he attended Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. While at Illinois Wesleyan, he competed collegiately in cross country and track and was an assistant within the athletic training department.
Upon graduating, Dr. Morris attended podiatric medical school at Des Moines University, a graduate school with sole emphasis on medical fields. Des Moines University is well recognized for its top level academic program and clinic exposure. While attending school, Dr. Morris had the opportunity to work at an athletic specialty retailer which was a consultant to many of the top running and athletic shoe manufactures.
After graduating at Des Moines University, he completed his comprehensive three year residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), which is considered a leading provider of health care in the country. It is consistently ranked in the U.S. News and World Report as a top hospital over the past decade. As part of the department of orthopedics at UPMC, Dr. Morris had training at a Level 1 trauma center, diabetic limb salvage center, world class sports medicine facilities, and advanced reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle.
After completion of training at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Morris joined a foot and ankle specialty group in Chicago, IL. He was a consulting physician to the Chicago Marathon and Chicago Area Runners Association. Subsequent to working in Chicago, he joined the University Foot and Ankle Institute.
Dr. Morris practices with the philosophy that teaching patients and educating them about their specific injury is equally important as the treatment provided.
With the advancements in modern medicine, excellent training and endless resources, Dr. Morris believes all patients and all injuries whether acute or chronic can be helped. He takes pride in being able to provide patients with the most advanced treatment modalities available and high level facilities in order to return them to a healthy, active, pain free lifestyle.
