Dr. Bob Baravarian is a Board Certified Podiatric Foot and Ankle Specialist. A Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and one of only a handful of foot and ankle surgeons to have both foot and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle certifications as a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Baravarian is a member of UCLA Medical Group, chief of podiatric surgery at Santa Monica/UCLA medical center and Orthopedic Hospital and an assistant clinical professor at the UCLA School of Medicine. He is fluent in English, French, Spanish, Farsi and Hebrew,

Dr. Gary B.Briskin is co-founder and co-director of The Foot and Ankle Institute, board-certified and served his residency at Flint General Hospital in Michigan. He then established a practice in Century City Hospital, where he became chief of podiatric surgery. Dr. Briskin also serves as an assistant clinical professor at the UCLA School of Medicine and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, maintains a special passion for hockey and running. He parlays that same spirit into all aspects of podiatry: sports medicine, arthritis prevention and reconstructive surgery.

After studying accounting and then leaning toward a physical therapy at Brigham Young University, Dr. Franson decided to pursue podiatry as his career. He then attended the School College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago followed by a three-year residency program at the Greater Los Angeles VA and UCLA County Hospital.
Dr. Franson specializes in several areas including total ankle replacement and sports medicine. Treating athletes and weekend warriors like himself brings him a lot of joy. “I love being able to provide true relief to the physical problems that people come see me about. I am one of those people who truly enjoy the personal interactions with my patients.”

Dr. Sydney Yau is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle specialist and an Associate of College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Dr. Yau received his medical training at Temple University in Philadelphia and completed a three year comprehensive surgical residency at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Pennsylvania. He specialized in diabetic limb salvage, sports medicine, foot and ankle reconstruction and trauma. Dr. Yau completed surgical reconstruction fellowship with the University Foot and Ankle Institute, one of a only a few fellowships recognized by the American College Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Sydney spends his free time with his wife, they enjoy traveling, trying new foods and restaurants, hiking, snowboarding, and playing softball.

From a young age Dr. Campbell knew he wanted to practice medicine and was especially interested in surgery. It was this passion that moved him from his small town in Wisconsin (population 885) to Ohio where he received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and went on to complete his residency at Department of Veterans Affair’s Loma Linda Healthcare System.
Brayton now works and resides in Santa Barbara and enjoys golfing, surfing and riding his motorcycle.

Dr. Schwartz is a member of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He received his board certification in 1986 and has a passion for serving the underserved.
A stand-out physician, Dr. Schwartz runs Operation Footprint, a non-profit organization that provides training, medical supplies, and reconstructive surgery to Honduran children born with major podiatric disabilities.
Dr. Tanler Volkmann was born in Aibonito, a small town in Puerto Rico and raised in Olympia, WA. In high school he played football, soccer, and was on the swim team. At Seattle University and Evergreen State College he played on the men’s soccer teams. As a budding medical professional, he worked his way through school as a medical assistant and phlebotomist.
Today, he’s lives in the Santa Clarita Valley with his wife and two young boys. A lifetime adventurer, he can be found backpacking with his family or heading to the coast for surfing, wake boarding, and scuba diving.

Dr. Avanti Redkar joins UFAI under a fellowship in sports medicine and ankle reconstruction. Born in Pune, India, she and her family immigrated to Alabama when she was four years old, later settling down near Pennsylvania where she attended the University of Scranton.
As a classically trained dancer, Dr. Redkar twisted her ankle and regularly developed calluses and painful blisters. To this day, she swears that “without my podiatrist, I would not have been able to perform!”

Dr.Bohman is a forefoot and rearfoot podiatric surgeon who comes to us from her residency at the Cambridge Health Alliance in Cambridge, MA, a community teaching hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School.
During her residency, Dr.Bohman received an award from the American Board of Podiatric Medicine for the highest in-training resident examination score of her post-graduate training year. She enjoys performing and learning about the latest techniques in minimally-invasive surgeries and the special challenges of reconstructive surgery for forefoot and rearfoot deformities.
Suzanne Hawson has served as Director of Physical Therapy with UFAI, Valencia since 2006.
She has been living and working in the Santa Clarita Valley for 11 years and is a five-time Ironman Triathlete. Suzanne is very involved in the athletic community of Santa Clarita and crosstrains with trail running, yoga, Pilates, and Crossfit. In her free time, she loves to travel and explore new cultures and cuisines.
Suzanne is certified by the American Physical Therapy Association as a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedics.
Gray O’Brien graduated with a Master’s in Physical Therapy from Long Island University and is a physical therapist licensed by the Physical Therapy Board of California.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Gray enjoys working with athletes of all levels with a special focus on orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. He specializes in foot and ankle pathologies and post-operative recovery.
Jason Tanaka earned his doctorate in physical therapy from St. Mary's College in Los Angeles.
Specializing in a therapeutic technique for plantar fasciitis and other treatments, Jason can effectively treat painful conditions in half as many sessions as traditional techniques.
A longtime volleyball player, Christel turned her interest towards athletic training after sustaining a sport-related injury in high school.
Christel earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from CSU Northridge in 2002 and continued her training at Cerritos College where she received her certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
