Relef Procedure: non-invasive radiofrequency for tendons and fascia

What is the RelēF Procedure?

In this video from NBC's "The Doctor's" we discuss and perform a RelēF Radiofrequency Therapy procedure for plantar fascitiis before a live studio audience.

RelēF (pronounced “relief”) is a non-invasive, office based procedure for relief of pain associated with persistent tendon and ligament disorders without surgery, injections, or downtime.

Utilizing a process known as electrocoagulation, RelēF stimulates the body’s natural healing process by inciting your own healing response, allowing damaged tissues to heal from within.

Clinical study success rates are in the range of 80+% at one year of follow-up, usually with a single treatment. RelēF Treatment allows your immediate return to activities of daily living.

How does RelēF work?

RelēF Technology delivers radio frequency (RF) energy transcutaneously deep into the targeted tissue while protecting the upper layers (e.g., skin) with cooling to make the treatment safer and easily tolerated.

While the device cools the skin surface, the body’s own impedance to RF energy generates heat at very specific depth and temperatures up to 50°C, to achieve the desired outcomes – initiation of the wound healing response, without damaging surrounding tissue.

The actual treatment is delivered in “pulses of energy” lasting less than 3 seconds each. A full treatment consists of up to 100 pulses. There is little or no discomfort following the treatment.
