Toenails, Calluses and Corns

Ingrown toenail treatment, University Foot and Ankle Insitute

Toenail conditions, corns and calluses are very common and can be both painful and unsightly. The foot and ankle specialists at University Foot and Ankle pride themselves in offering the latest technologies available care for these conditions, resulting in the most non-invasive treatment options possible.

Our foot and ankle specialists have extensive experience treating corns, calluses and toenail conditions, including toenail fungus (Onychocryptosis) and ingrown toenails.

  • A fungus can invade the nail through cuts or after an injury. Fungal infections (Onychomycosis) are the most common nail disease.

  • An ingrown toenail (Onychocryptosis) is a common discomfort that involves the nail curving down into the surrounding skin causing pain, redness and inflammation.

  • Calluses and corns are the thick, rough patches of skin that develop as a result of prolonged pressure or repetitive rubbing.
