Christel Beattie, Physical Therapist, University Foot and Ankle Institute

Christel Beattie, PTA is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and has been providing patients with compassionate care at UFAI since 2010. Christel specializes in outpatient physical therapy and orthopedics, but also has experience in workplace ergonomics. Her special insight helps patients to feel great, seven days a week, from the trail to the office.

A longtime volleyball player, Christel turned her interest towards athletic training after sustaining a sport-related injury in high school. Christel earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from CSU Northridge in 2002. During her time at Northridge, she worked as an aide in a physical therapist’s office and become fascinated with the science and practice of physical therapy. That’s when she decided to pursue her certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Cerritos College.

Christel’s lifelong passion for helping others has driven her to cultivate stronger socially- and spiritually-conscious relationships with her community. She enjoyed participating in community service organizations like Students Against Drunk Driving and Job’s Daughters. Always striving to become a better version of herself, she also joined her schools’ Junior Achievement and honors clubs. She’s also CPR certified and a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Christel was born and raised in Southern California and couldn’t imagine leaving. She loves taking weekend trips to the mountains and could never live more than a few hours away from the beach. She’s happiest in the beautiful SoCal weather, where sunglasses and sandals are perfectly acceptable everyday wear! She lives in the Santa Clarita Valley with her two children and her husband, and teacher and a coach. They love having fun in the sun, packing every free weekend full of hiking, camping, and adventures at Disneyland.
