Dr Evelyn Heigh, Podiatrist, University Foot and Ankle Institute

Dr. Evelyn G. Heigh is an advanced fellow at the University Foot and Ankle Institute. Dr. Heigh comes to us by way of New York, where she completed her surgical residency at North Shore University Hospital -Long Island Jewish Medical Center (now known as Northwell Health). Dr. Heigh received comprehensive medical and surgical training in all aspects of and impacting the foot and ankle. Care for the foot and ankle needs of a Division 1 collegiate athletic department as well as a pediatric hospital rounded out her training.

Born in Phoenix, AZ, Dr. Heigh graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Arizona State University. Next, she attended medical school at Midwestern University with the Arizona School of Podiatric Medicine, where her passion for community service, leadership, and scholarship earned her the Spirit of Service Scholarship. Dr. Heigh has conducted clinical research and shared her findings with the medical community. Among her publications is an evaluation of the foot and ankle conditions of Special Olympics Athletes.

A long time tennis player, Dr. Heigh has swung the racquet at the competitive Junior, Varsity, and Collegiate levels. In fact, it was her passion for sports that inspired her to pursue a concentration in Kinesiology. “Podiatry is a natural extension of my interest in mobility and human motion,” she says.

Dr. Heigh found her niche at the intersection of human movement, sports, community involvement, and podiatric medicine. She has worked with several service organizations, and holds membership in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Medical Association, the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, and the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics & Medicine.

She now lives in Los Angeles, treating the full spectrum of foot and ankle pathologies at UFAI, with a special focus in sports medicine and reconstructive surgery.
