I have been having issues with heel pain for years and nothing really ever helped for more than a couple weeks. Not the doctors here in Orange County, injections, physical therapy, ice, heating pad, stretching, nothing.

My friend from LA has been trying to get me to go to LA for treatment from her doctor at UFAI. After visiting me for the weekend and me hobbling through a local farmers market, she made me drive back with her to see her doctor.  She was able to get an appointment for me on Monday for the next day to see Dr. Ryan Carter and we drove in.  

Despite my negativity and general surly nature, the UFAI team was very nice. After filling out too much paperwork, Dr. Carter did an exam and ultrasound on me and told me my plantar fasciitis was a mess (duh!). He wanted an MRI, which I got in their office an hour later and then we met again in the afternoon.

Yep, I was a mess.  And since I already tried physical therapy and everything else, Dr. Ryan suggested we try this newer procedure called Tenjet. It's a water spraying device that breaks up and removes the scar tissue inside the foot that they have had lots of success with. But it has to be done in a surgery center but they took care of all the insurance stuff and two days later I was back for it.

It didn't hurt at all during it thanks to the miracle of drugs but afterwards, it did not really hurt either. It was tender but Tylenol did the trick. I was on crutches for a few days and then this Star Wars looking walking boot for a couple of weeks. And at Dr. Carter's recommendation, I also opted for physical therapy for recovery. The PT Team at UFAI was great, painful in the beginning but with only 3 weeks of PT, I was done and totally pain free.

I am now three months out, just had my last checkup and I can honestly walk without pain. It really changed my life and according to my husband I am sooooooo much less cranky. I really did not realize how much this pain spilled over into other aspects of my life, but it guess it did. I am not sure who loves Dr. Carter more, me or my husband.

Dr. Bob is a very skilled foot surgeon who makes you feel confident he can fix your foot issue.

Once we agreed on surgery, he did exactly what he said he would do and my feet are healing nicely. Strongly recommend Dr. Bob.

Dr. Carter has been taking very good care of me. He has been very thorough, reassuring, and professional. He guided me through my first surgery with confidence by explaining the procedure and its outcomes. He listened to my concerns, and had an experienced and complete answer for everything. He has ensured that I have everything I need, and has made my experience as comfortable as possible. I didn't once doubt that my care was in the right hands.

Dr Baravarian and his team are amazing! I had a very painful plantar fasciitis for almost 10 years. Tried almost everything but all of other treatments and doctors just failed to heal my foot. Thank you Dr I can walk painlessly again!

I had a great experience with Dr. Baravarian and the entire office. Everyone is professional, friendly and everything runs in a timely manner. I never felt rushed with Dr. Baravarian; he took the time to review all my options and explain them thoroughly. His surgery incorporated the most recent advances and my surgery and recovery went far better than I had anticipated. If you have foot issues or need foot surgery this is a first rate practice.

Last week I was in LA for work and I stumbled over a curb. Aside from the embarrassment, I sprained my ankle. I thought it was just a little sprain but the next day it was really sore, really purple and hurt like hell.

I called UFAI and they got me in the same day. Amazing! I saw Dr. Briskin and what a lovely man! He did xrays and it turned out I really did screw up my ankle. I had to get back to Palm Desert the next day so he gave me a walking boot, ice pack and exact instructions for care. He also gave me a personal reference for physical therapy in the desert.

It was a great experience, except for hurting myself, of course. I'll be back in LA next week and will get my checkup with Dr. Briskin. I trust him, and to me that means a lot.
