grateful for the excellent care. Only thing that wasn't great was that in the appointments the month or so ahead of the bunion surgery when I'd asked about how mobile I'd be I was told I shouldn't have trouble at all moving about, and that maybe, if I needed them, you would get me crutches. I wasn't informed until the pre-op meeting that my foot could not be load bearing at all for 3 weeks and that I'd definitely need a scooter or crutches. Not being able to put any weight on the foot meant that I wouldn't be mobile enough to step up small sets of non-ADA-compliant stairs at work that I need to get up/down several times a week for public events I lead. So I only had 2 days to scramble to get coverage for for those events. Luckily I have a wonderful boss and he happened not to have any travel those weeks, so he could cover. I'm guessing my case may have simply been an oversight - but I hope you are more explicitly clear with others about the level of disability in the first weeks after surgery.

dr. shin and his staff are excellent at what they do. they make me feel welcome and dr. shin is a wonder. he is so sweet and gets to the business of fixing my foot as soon as i walk in the door. i am lucky to have found him.

I appreciate Dr. Carter listening to me, and allowing me to have an open line of communication. For someone like me who is healthy and normally never has any issues to now be in a position where something is wrong, the communication takes away some of the fear and disappointment.

The only “complaint “ I have is that no one ever explained to me how to fit my brace into a shoe until this last visit. I did not understand that the sleeve was supposed to come off, this, finding it necessary to wear flip flops which I’m sure hasn’t helped my recovery. Bought some sturdy shoes that the brace fits in to

I was surprised when an assistant had me take off my shoe took my orthotics I don’t know this person and I don’t know his training I’m not seeing the doctor first, he takes my old orthotics and my new ones and he trims them and I have no idea who this person is or what kind of training he has. Then the doctor comes in and has me walk asked me how it is. I told him it didn’t feel the same as before I’ve worn a thought IX for probably close to eight years if not longer. He said come back into weeks. I did not feel listened to. I have a fused toe on the foot that didn’t feel right.
