    Dr. Carter was great. From the moment he entered the room, he was very professional but friendly. As a guy who often overlooks his feet, it is a little awkward to be sitting/laying in a very elevated chair and having another guy handling my feet. Dr. Carter was very calming and took the awkwardness out of it by casually conversing with me the entire time about mutual interests while also explaining what he was doing, and afterwards explaining what I could do to prevent a repeat. The nurse or physician's assistant who initially called me in to the exam room was equally professional. The first receptionist who checked me in and provided me with the paperwork to complete was friendly and nice. Unfortunately she did not return. Another receptionist took over for her and seemed to have a more abrasive personality. Her answers to my questions were curt and very short. She does not represent your practice as well as everyone else I interacted with.

    Arrived 15 minutes late after a 90+ minute drive from PV and had to wait another 90 minutes to be seen. Seems excessive but I NEEDED to be seen.

    Dr. Ryan Carter is the best! It is awkward to have another guy handling your feet, but Dr. Carter explained everything that he was doing and how/when I might feel pain. Then he found items of mutual interest for us to talk about. Afterwards there was a little bruising, but three days later I was good as new. Almost everyone I interacted with was very pleasant except for one woman at the reception desk. The woman who checked me in for my appointment was friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately another woman took over for her, and the second woman was a little curt in her responses and was unfriendly.

    I have not been using inserts that much, once I do get some extended time wearing them I’ll be making another appointment. This is also the reason I haven’t been responding to your inquiries, hard to give feedback when not using item !

    Your X-ray technician also demonstrated how to put on the soft ankle brace. While x-raying my swollen foot I thought he was too rough and I told him so because he was not paying attention to me and was hurting me. When demonstrating the brace did it so quickly and sloppily I had had to remove it and figure it out for myself. He needs training in patient relations/ care, I think.

    Well I’m still on my journey to regain the use of my feet without being in excruciating pain 24 hrs a day. I didn’t feel I could honestly complete your survey till I’d been to see Dr. Brisken a few times.
    I’ve seen six other doctors before the last doctor (Dr. Chan) told my insurance Dr. Brisken is the only doctor that could possibly help me.
    He (Dr. Brisken) has been very understanding of all issues, listening to me and explaining what could be causing them. He didn’t just throw out a guess, he got test done that gives us all a correct diagnosis, and now he’s given me a bit of hope that his first (and hopefully only) suggested resolution is inserts for my shoes to help correct my step.
    How wonderful! To be able to stand on my feet without agonizing pain! To be able to stand up straight again with both feet firmly on the ground??? Amazing!!!
    Only thing that comes to my mind is Thank You Dr. Brisken.
    And all of you in that work with us in the office have been very helpful.

    So happy with how all has turned out. Only thing I would have liked along the way was a clearer "heads up" on how long the anesthesia would last and how painful it would be once it wore off. We falsely concluded that it had worn off a few hours before it really did and thought I wasn't going to need much pain management. When the pain hit, it was extraordinarily intense and I think we could have lessened it if I'd taken medication before the anesthesia fully cleared my system.

    I will be returning and there is no higher endorsement on my part. If I am not satisfied with medical services I do not hesitate to change providers. Simply put, Dr. Carter was terrific and the staff was very efficient and courteous.

    I absolutely love everyone in this office. Maria is adorable. Sylvia is so nice and accommodating. Michelle is so patient with scheduling and Giselle is simply the best. Dr Franson is wonderful. My husband and daughter are patients in this office, we've made it a family affair. I know there are a few others (I don't know their names yet) and they also are kind and considerate. We will continue to visit this office as the need arises.

    Coming to your Santa Monica office on Feb. 20 was very hard time wise. We got stuck in traffic along Santa Monica Blvd. for 2 hours.

    My next appointment will be at 1245 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles.

    In hindsight I would like to have seen the MRI showing my neuroma. I have not made up my mind about having more surgery. Seeing what is actually happening in my foot might help me make the decision. And I really would like to talk to someone who has had this surgery. Dr Baravarian suggested I could hang out in his waiting room and talk to patients. I'd rather have a few numbers to call. I will go online to see what people have said about this surgery.

    The doctor seemed in a hurry this time unlike previous times.I have been coming o=in for over a year now. The assistant/student who helped me was brand new and did not appear to be well trained like the others I have seen previously. He did not offer to assist me with my injured foot to prepare to get x-rays. the others perviously helped me. And in the x-ray room he did not help me put on the heavy vest as others did before. And when I needed to move the angle of my foot to get another view for x-ray, he moved me manually with his hand, not gently, as the others did not do this, they asked me to position it myself which I know how to do. Lastly when finished usually the assistant checks to see if I am okay and need any assistance to get dressed to leave. he was nowhere to be found. And he did not check to see if it was time to trim my toe nails as the other aids always did. I do realize these things happen sometimes and was unlike any previous visit and I hesitated to say this at this time but in your message you stated you wanted to hear the truth, I hope you meant that. there seemed to have been a turnover of many staff members this visit and many new staffers.

    I could have used more details as to what I could and couldn't do between the time of the procedure and my return visit 3 weeks later. Even if it was just on the printed paper about the procedure - I wish that went into more detail about the do's and don'ts.

    Great attention, I had been there once before with an appt booked well in advance. This time, I was just finishing up w another MD in the same building. My foot had been hurting quite a bit, mostly from working out / cardio at the gym after a break of several years. So yeah, my callouses returned. The doc took care of the first pass, her asst touched up. I was in and out, full service no more than 20 min. I know it’s impossible but I wish it could be the same way each visit.

    Not just becuz of availability, but I’m glad I found this office. Pleasant, efficient, know their stuff, and easy to work with.

    After one week waiting for my out of the pocket appointment I walked in to find out that the doctor could not see me. On the phone, as I explained my pain, they said I could be treated there. Once I got there, filled all the ten forms out and PAID the nurse said the doctor could not  even see me since my pain was no on the foot, forget about treating me (they refunded me later).
    Really? Plus the woman at the reception was pretty rude and said I could not ask the doctor to refer me to a place who does the same treatment they denied doing - shockwave Theraphy. I just lost my time but they don't care of course. And that was a one thousand dollars treatment that I was going to fully pay since my insurance doesn't cover. Just saying think twice before going there since you may never even see the doctor...

    I've been going to UFAI for 6 years through 2 neuromas, 2 cheilectomies and 2 joint manipulations and am happy with all of the folks there. If I have a suggestion it is to build more info on a patient into your system. For example, I've gotten 10-12 orthotics from UFAI since 2012 but each time someone giving them to me asks if I have ever worn orthotics before. I'm not suggesting I'm some sort of needy person that needs to be treated specially but as a fan of UFAI but if the conversation started with "how are your older orthotics holding up? is there anything to the next pair you think we should adjust?" etc than something impersonal ("have you ever worn orthotics before?") it would be a nice from a customer service perspective.
