Wonderful experience!
This was a second visit to remove my 93 year old mother’s corns from her little toe. The receptionist was pleasant & very efficient. The nurse who prepped her was smiling & quick to setup. Dr. Baravarian has a delightful bedside manner. He assessed the toe while chatting with my mother and in just a blink of an eye, the procedure was completed. No pain. My mother was so happy with the visit and outcome. Dr. Bob reassured her that she could come in anytime to repeat the process as necessary. Thank you Dr. Bob!

Dr. Carter and his support staff are EXCELLENT. I would just recommend that you folks REALLY drive the point home that one will be incapacitated (in terms of work) for about a month post op, and that full recovery could take up to 4 months (or so) post op. I did not get the impression that I would have such a long downtime or recovery, but I do hope for full recovery and I like the looks of my new toes.
Aside from that, I am very grateful for Dr. Carter's expertise and his help.

The staff at the appointment took good care of me, however it was before that that I had many problems. 1) My phone number was not copied correctly into the system so messages were left on the wrong number, even after I emailed my correct information to Maria. 2) Maria kept insisting that I was to pay $520 for my orthotics, when my EOB stated it should be $448. She said my insurance plan told her they would only pay if I had diabetes, but they told me that wasn't a stipulation. It was only when I talked to Diana in the billing department that I was able to straighten this out. 3) When I called to see if the orthotics were ready, I was told they had been for over a week and messages had been left for me (see problem #1). I was not able to go to the Sherman Oaks office on the days the doctor was there, so I asked if they could be sent to me. I left 3 messages to ask about this (3/28, 3/29, 4/4) but no one returned my calls. It wasn't until I spoke to Yvonne (receptionist) that I understood that I didn't have to come to the Sherman Oaks office, but could come to Santa Monica instead. So FINALLY, after 3 months from my original appointment I got my orthotics. Exhausting!

Some confusion at checking out about billing and insurance coverage for the prescribed orthotics; because the info I got wasn't accurate, I chose to pay the full amount and check with Blue Shield for coverage (Medicare doesn't pay) and found that Blue Shield will pick up part of the cost but Medicare has to be billed first and then the crossover will go to Blue Shield. I'll sort it out on my next visit to fit the orthotics...
