For new/first time patients, offer to email them the patient forms so they can print them at home, fill them out and bring them already completed. It's easier to provide some of that info ( name of medications being taken, dosage, etc.) if you can access the bottles. Hard to know some of that info by heart when completing the forms in your waiting area. Also, I wasn't called in for about 30 minutes after my appt. time - that shouldn't happen.

*all was great-except for automatically being directed to get an X-ray of my foot. I knew I didn’t need one because it can only read “bones”- I knew it had to do more with a nerve/tendon...It would have been unnecessary radiations ! +possible out of pocket expense.
Doc. Diagnosed with plantar fasciitis...

Dr. Briskin was warm, kind, and simply brilliant. In a matter of seconds, he cut my ingrown toenail, relieving my pain, and ridding my toe of the pain from the infection that had developed. The toe healed very quickly. I can only recommend him and his colleagues at University Foot and Ankle Institute, most heartily and enthusiastically.

grateful for the excellent care. Only thing that wasn't great was that in the appointments the month or so ahead of the bunion surgery when I'd asked about how mobile I'd be I was told I shouldn't have trouble at all moving about, and that maybe, if I needed them, you would get me crutches. I wasn't informed until the pre-op meeting that my foot could not be load bearing at all for 3 weeks and that I'd definitely need a scooter or crutches. Not being able to put any weight on the foot meant that I wouldn't be mobile enough to step up small sets of non-ADA-compliant stairs at work that I need to get up/down several times a week for public events I lead. So I only had 2 days to scramble to get coverage for for those events. Luckily I have a wonderful boss and he happened not to have any travel those weeks, so he could cover. I'm guessing my case may have simply been an oversight - but I hope you are more explicitly clear with others about the level of disability in the first weeks after surgery.
