Everyone is terrific and helpful at both the Santa Monica and Sherman Oaks offices.  Dr. Bob is especially patient with you and will answer all of your questions with easy to understand termNo surprises.  He actually listens to you!  What a refreshing experience for a doctor.'s visit.

I had bad bunions on both feet, and could never wear normal, cute shoes without pain. My feet were always Fred Flintstone feet, and needed lots of support. In my late 20s I did marathons and had lots of foot problems. With age, my feet got worse and were more akin to bear's feet. Bad foot genetics. My grandmother had horrible bunions. As an athletic and competitive person, the bunions and lack of foot support were starting to cause other issues such as knee, hip and low back pain, and thus interfering with all my activities. Making me old before my time! Dr. Baravarian surgically corrected both bunions with a Tailor's Bunionectomy and Osteotomy, on both feet, 3 weeks apart. He also cleaned up the arthritis that was developing. The recovery was easy. Much easier than I could have ever anticipated. NOT recommended but I did do my martial arts class the day after surgery because I felt so good (and without taking the drugs prescribed except Ibuprofen for inflammation). I was careful, but that was stupid. I was swimming as soon as the incisions were clear, and started running a few months after. I could do upper body exercises with the boots on during recovery. Wished I did the surgery long ago had I known it wouldn't be such a big deal. The knee, low back and foot pain went away. Added bonus: feet are normal looking and can wear normal shoes. Several years later, feet corrected but still need support (and I was bad not regularly wearing my orthotics), I developed plantar fasciitis. Currently working w/ physical therapy team and they are fantastic as well. Dr. Baravarian and his whole team are great. All they do is concentrate of foot and ankle issues so you can trust you're in good hands. On that note, a lot of recovery and prevention is up to you, the patient. Stay healthy and continue to do physical therapy strengthening exercises and stretching. Basically, you should commit to the self-care for the rest of your life. The team can fix the structural problems, but it's up to you, the patient to keep yourself healthy and well.

Dr Baravarian was a referral from a friend who also had bunion surgery with him. He is knowledgeable, respectful and very professional. He tells it like it is and his staff is great. I had bunion surgery almost 8 weeks ago and I am healing great. I would highly recommend him to anyone that asks. Thank you for your great work and staff!!!

Hi highly recommend Dr Baravarian as someone of experience, expertise, and patience.Yesterday, my daughter who is an aspiring tennis pro went to Dr Baravarian hobbling with tremendous pain and had to play a high level tennis tournament in 5 hours.
We were expecting the worst. But after taking xray to make sure she wasn't in danger, his vast knowledge with sports athletes fixed the situation and she is on her way. He fitted her with orthotics and gave tremendous advice for her future work outs and playing tournaments.
I can't thank him enough and the kind supporting staff that he has.

Dr. Baravarian is an excellent physician that truly understands the industry better than anyone else. I have visited other podiatrists that couldn't fix my issue and Dr. Baravarian was able to help me in one session. Nobody else compares.

I was traveling recently and injured my foot. Based on the recommendation of a friend (and after reading all the great reviews), I decided to give University Foot & Ankle Institute a try. Considering the circumstances, the whole ordeal was pretty painless! The wonderful staff at UFAI was able to get me in to see Dr. Baravarain quickly and efficiently, they even took my insurance! After a visit with Dr. Bob, I was pain free and on my way in no time! Thanks UFAI for taking such great care of me!

Dr. Baravarian is great.  He pays attention to what you say and the medical techs are impeccable and nice.  All around a well-run office.  He solved a tricky, painful and somewhat mysterious ankle problem for me three years ago and it hasn't come back but I still go back to him for orthotics.

Dr. B and his staff were so kind. I'm extremely sensitive to pain and they were all very comforting and supportive. I would not hesitate to return and refer any of my family members and friends. Thank you for you commitment to excellent patient care.

I've had two Lapidus Bunionectomy surgeries (one for each foot) by Dr Baravarian and I'm thrilled with the results. My bunions were extreme and required extreme expert measures to correct them. Dr. Baravarian is one of the best, if not THE best, foot doctors in L.A. and I feel so grateful to have found him.

I saw Dr. Baravarian after being misdiagnosed by another doctor. (I am runner, but foot pain was making even short runs very difficult). He was awesome, really attentive and caring. He quickly diagnosed a bone spur in my foot and recommended orthotics. Have to say I was skeptical that the thin inserts could make much of a difference, but I was so wrong! I immediately noticed a difference and am back to running long distance with zero pain. I really can't thank him enough!

So far everything is going well. I really like Dr. Baravarian and his staff, they did a wonderful job. They are very compassionate and professional at the same time. My family and I are very happy and thankful we found you guys, and we are definitely recommending your services to everybody. Thank you again for making me feel at peace at the time of my surgery. Doctor did a fabulous job. My foot looks amazing! But most importantly, I have a very difficult time with anesthetic and I'm allergic to many medications, the doctor listened and took every step to make sure I had the best care with the anesthesiologist.

Very happy with the knowledge of Dr  Bob Baravarian.  After three surgeries by two different doctors he was able to relieve the pain and swelling.  The office and staff were always pleasant and very helpful.  I would highly recommend this office !

I am in process with Dr. Baravarian now for a chronic ankle problem, and am completely delighted to be in his care.  Both he ~ and the rest of the staff ~ are professional, courteous, helpful, and clearly are very very good at what they do.

I see Dr. Bob in Sherman Oaks. If it wasn't for him I really wouldn't be able to walk. I have bad arthritis in my ankles and feet. I have seen several doctors regarding my problems but NO ONE was able to help me or understand how to help me or have the knowledge of how to help me. Dr. Bob is intelligent, calm, and funny. He makes sure you understand what he's going to do before surgery and what's going to happen after surgery. If he see's you feel anxious or nervous he takes the time to calm you down. Bottom Line after he listens to you regarding your ailment and after thoroughly examining you he knows exactly what you need and what to do. If you gives you some cork lifts or a boot or something else it is for your health and he always knows exactly what he's doing. He's honest and very intelligent. He's an amazing surgeon my ankles are attached and I am able to walk. He's had to do numerous surgeries on my feet because of all my problems. I trust him and highly recommend him. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I received great service from the staff, and the surgery was very convenient and professional . Dr Bob (Baravian) did an amazing job repairing my ankle. I am active, pain-free, and able to enjoy my shoe collection again ... Dr Bob has me in heels again, comfortably!

Remarkable staff, courteous, efficient and kind.  Dr. Bob has been wonderful in taking care of me for what up until now has been an ongoing chronic problem.  But we are beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel!

A few months ago, I visited Dr. Baravarian for a foot ailment that I had been suffering from for a few years. After a couple of misdiagnoses and painful cortisone and alcohol injections. He was able to tell me I had a torn plantar plate and ligament of my second toe. I had previously been diagnosed with a second toe neuroma. We decided together that the only course of treatment was surgery to repair everything. A day after surgery, I was no longer in pain and (5) five days later I was able to see a marked improvement in the look and function of my foot and toe.

Dr. Baravarian and his staff are warm, compassionate and professional. I am always able to get an appointment and I am seen in a timely manner. I have just recently referred Dr. Baravarian to friend, who has been suffering from painful ankles from years of playing sports. My friend had surgery to repair her ankle and told me she was very pleased with the outcome.

I believe that the quality of a professional office is determined on how many people are referred and receive great treatment.
