I was a patient of Dr. Kelman's before he joined UFAI. I really like him and his office staff are fantastic. However, not being able to call their office directly, having to leave a message with the phone service, is extremely frustrating. I recently had foot surgery, and I had a quick follow-up question for Dr. Kelman - I sat on hold for 20 minutes with the switchboard, got disconnected once and then did not get called back until late the next day. I almost switched doctors because of these type of issues with not being called back and not being able to reach the office. I highly suggest that you allow patients to call the office directly if they are in the middle of scheduling surgery or dealing with follow-up from surgery.

Dr Kelman is the absolute best. He listens, his office is incredibly efficient, whether its scheduling, billing, arranging of services, equipment. His experience shows and he is a fun, happy health care provider. Trust him with my health.

Dr Kelman was AMAZING!!! He was very professional and did a flawless job on my foot. He had a wonderful sense of humor which made the small surgery very comfortable and completely painless. I have full confidence in him. His assistants and staff were excellent as well!!!

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly; the office is pleasant and not overcrowded or over-busy--I was able to get an appointment right away and was seen right away when I arrived. My only complaint is that it took me several hours to get a referral approved by my primary care physician--which is probably an issue with UCLA HMO, not with your office--I was frustrated that I needed a referral for a broken foot! That shouldn't be necessary. Also, after i left your office I did have numerous questions popping up that I hadn't thought of at the time, so maybe more instruction from the doctor about after-care (like, should I keep icing ? or not? keep my foot elevated at night, etc.) and prognosis about what to expect might have been helpful or reassuring. However, I will ask these questions at my next visit. Overall, I was very pleased with your office and staff.

Dr. Kelman is terrific. I've been seeing him for many years, for a number of different foot issues, and I really think he is the best. My foot problems are resolved efficiently, and it is always a pleasure to visit Dr. Kelman.

I had been recommended to Dr. Kelman not a neighbor. I only visited him twice for what turned out to be plantar fasciitis. I was still in pain after the second visit, but I followed his exercise regimen, wore proper shoes, and after a couple more weeks, I was pain free!

I am very happy with the care I received. The staff and Dr. Kelman are all affable and very professional. I am excited to get my inserts and will highly recommend UFAI to my family and friends. Thank you for caring about your patients and showing compassion.
