Patient Reviews of University Foot and Ankle Institute

I have had previous ankle problems on 2008 and when had same issues this 2018, I definitely had to come back to the same professional and helpful team that I had experienced in the past. Only the best would do and UFAI is the way to go.

As I was on a blood thinner or even if I were not on the blood thinner, I have a few requests for future care:
1. I would have liked to have had a much more absorbent bandage on my foot to absorb the blood that ended up bleeding through my sock and all over the inside of my shoe. The mess left for me to clean up when my foot huringt was disappointing & very disconcerting if also a bit scary & unexpected since I could not see the bottom of my foot.
2. A sheet of information on the care of my wound and injection site would have been extremely helpful. My foot swelled so quickly and was so painful I called the office immediately when I arrived home. I was given a waiver to sign with the possible side effects and was not given a copy to take home. Plus, there were no aftercare recommendations on that sheet that I can remember after my brief look.
3. The question I asked Dr Briskin about my 2nd toe on my right foot was extremely well explained. I appreciate the detailed information on the possible fix & recovery.

Hubby & I really liked both doctor & assistant. We received direct, accurate, & compassionate answers to our questions. I especially liked the referrals.
With that said, I do not know how the doctors or facility treat the diabetic foot or fungus, etc. I was not sure if the doctor or assistant examined my foot thoroughly for wounds, dryness, etc because I was more concerned about my husband at the time. They probably did, but I was tired. If the doctor/assistant could look at the patient directly and say, "I am going to exam your foot for wounds, etc. that would be great. Would Like your practice to treat neuropathy rather than chiropractors who are delving into areas they shouldn't. Also, you could have available an orthodic for $75.00 if the ins. co. does not pay for orthodics. My podiatrist does have that and it works well. Better than Dr. Scholls. At least it is something. Don't know where he got the orthodics. We will return for annual foot care. Only disappointment for me was that my hubby did not get orthodics because our insurance changed their policy. We thought our current situation was well addressed as the clinic was able to effectively repair the nearly new orthotic that had come apart. What would be helpful is since we are patients who come in very rarely, that some communication about when it will be necessary to come back is better outlined. We initiated this appointment since it had been some years (since this year's appointments) that we last visited, and thought it necessary to have our son's progress checked. Currently, we do not have any information about when or if it is necessary to do this again next year or check in the year after, etc. We thank you for the service provided otherwise by your clinic, and maybe an e-mail or automated reminder would help in regards to future care.
